Swimming pools shut at Woodford Leisure Centre due to heating problem

The main swimming pool at Woodford Leisure Centre will be closed from 4pm on Friday 29 November due to a problem with the heating system.

The issue means all pools at the centre will be closed over the weekend. The fitness suite, sports halls, studios and squash courts will be open as normal.

Works to fix the problem will continue into the weekend. The pools are expected to open early next week.

Councillor Dave Craker, Hull City Council’s portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “We apologise to anyone affected by the heating issues at Woodford. Staff are working hard to remedy the problem as quickly as possible. Customers and groups due to visit over the next three days are being contacted about the issue.”

Friday evening’s Disco Dive session at the centre is cancelled as a result of the works.
