Coronavirus: Hull crematorium grounds reopen to public

The Chanterlands Avenue Crematorium grounds have resumed their normal opening hours.

The grounds were closed to the public at the end of March to meet the Government’s Health Protection Regulations.

The requirements saw crematoriums and burial ground closed to the public except for funerals or burials during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Hull crematorium building including outside toilets, Book of Remembrance room and the administration office remains closed to visitors.

The chapels are open for cremation services with restrictions still in place. Only immediate family should attend, with up to ten people attending the service, and those attending should follow Government social distancing guidelines.

The Crematorium grounds are open seven days a week from 8.30am to 7.30pm.

The city’s five cemeteries are also open for family visits.
