Lighthouse Family to perform at Hull’s Bonus Arena

Lighthouse Family – one of the largest British bands of the 1990s – will visit Hull next year as part of a major UK tour.

The band, known for the huge track Lifted, will visit the Bonus Arena on Saturday 22 February.

Tunde Baiyewu and Paul Tucker formed Lighthouse Family after meeting at Newcastle University in the early 1990s.

Their 1995 debut album Ocean Drive was a slow-burning success, going six times platinum while staying in the album charts for almost three years, while pop-soul classic Lifted became one the defining songs of the era.

The 1997 follow-up Postcards From Heaven and third album outing Whatever Gets You Through The Day were also filled with top-10 singles.

A fourth album, Blue Sky In Your Head, will be released on Friday 3 May and will include Essentials, all the band’s classic songs remastered to celebrate their 25-year recording history.

Tickets start at £25, with VIP meet and greet passes available at £115.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 3 May here or by calling 0844 8440444.

Drag act Alaska 5000 will appear at Pride in Hull.
Status Quo lead singer Francis Rossi has spent more than 50 years in rock and roll.
