Essential repair works will take place in Preston Road from Friday 28 June.
The kerbing and carriageway works will take place over four weeks between Marfleet Lane and Annandale Road.
The road will remain open to motorists, however a five-day closure will be in place when resurfacing works are due to take place.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place to manage traffic flow.
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways, said: “To allow our contractor to carry out the work safely and swiftly, traffic management will be in place.
“We apologise in advance for any disruption caused during the period of works and ask that motorists are patient while we carry out these essential works.”
Wright Civil Engineering Ltd will be carrying out the works on behalf of Hull City Council.
Dates for the five-day road closure will be confirmed via a letter drop to residents whose properties are within the works area.
