Crane construction competition launched in Hull

A competition challenging Hull residents to build their own working crane has been launched.

The contest, set up by the Hull Maritime project, asks people in the city if they can build a crane that can lift an object without breaking or falling over?

Competitors can use household materials such as cans, cardboard boxes, string and Lego before taking a picture or video of the apparatus lifting an object.

The pictures or videos should be sent to Hull Maritime on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, or by email to [email protected].

Watch a video on the competition below.

The closing date for entries is Friday 5 June, when the favourite will be picked and a prize revealed.
