Roadworks in Clarence Street will continue until Monday 10 February.
During phase two of the works, a one-lane road closure will be put in place on the inbound section of Clarence Street.
Traffic heading from Holderness Road will be diverted up Witham and onto Great Union Street to gain access to the southern part of Clarence Street.
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways at Hull City Council, said: “To allow the repairs to take place safely, some traffic management will be in place.
“We apologise in advance and ask that motorists are patient while we carry out these essential repairs.”
