Coronavirus: Hull crematorium puts measures in place

Gatherings for funeral services and burials at Chanterlands Avenue Crematorium in Hull are to be limited to 10 people.

The measures are being put in place in line with Government guidance on limiting public gatherings due to coronavirus.

Scattering of ashes with families present and interments of ashes are suspended until further notice.

Staff are to concentrate only on delivering cremation and burial services. Statutory declarations for pending burials will continue to go ahead by appointment only.

Face-to-face contact with families at this time needs to limited, and therefore following a cremation, the crematorium will hold the cremated remains indefinitely until further notice.

If families have any queries in relation to their funeral service, they should contact their funeral director in the first instance. Bereavement Services in Hull is working closely with all funeral directors to support families at this difficult time.
