Screens in Hull’s Paragon Interchange are being tested for use in the New Year.
The 49 new screens installed earlier this year in the city’s transport hub followed a revamp of the digital system.
The move will enable bus passengers to plan their journeys as efficiently as possible, with real-time updates on bus arrival and departure times using smart technology.
However before these are fully operational, some testing is going ahead. Passengers are advised to ignore the current information which is displayed, and instead refer to the timetables placed at each individual bus stop.
Councillor Daren Hale, portfolio holder for economic investment and regeneration, said: “Real-time display screens are vital for public transport users to have the confidence and reassurance of their bus times. It will give passengers confidence in reliable public transport.”
Once in place, the station will benefit from 42 LCD display 22in screens installed at each bus stand, with an additional seven 49in screens along the concourse of Paragon Interchange, displaying journey planning information for all bus services departing from the Interchange.
Passengers are also reminded to wear face coverings and observe social distancing measures when using the Interchange.
