The Queen's Platinum Jubilee event will take place over the extended bank holiday weekend

Platinum Jubilee street party applications now open

Hull City Council is inviting communities to apply to hold street parties in their neighbourhood to celebrate June’s Platinum Jubilee.

Residents are able to apply for a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) up until 24 April meaning they can close the road to traffic and fill it with tables, chairs, games and decorations for families to enjoy.

Councillor Aneesa Akbar, Portfolio Holder for Communities said:

“The Platinum Jubilee marks 70 years of The Queen’s reign and is a once in a lifetime event.

“We would love to see our communities coming together and celebrating right across the city.”

Applications are invited across the Jubilee bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 June and are free.
