Roadworks to begin in Sculcoates Lane

Essential roadworks are to get underway in Sculcoates Lane from Monday 23 September.

The rescheduled work will take place at the junction of Beverley Road and Sculcoates Lane under a road closure between the hours of 7am-7pm.

A signed diversion route will be in operation via Beverley Road, Clough Road, Bankside and Air Street.

In addition to these essential repairs, overnight resurfacing work will also take place at the same junction between 7pm-7am in Beverley Road. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation for this and there may be delays to traffic.

Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways, said: “To allow our contractor Wright Civil Engineering to carry out the work safely and swiftly, traffic management will be in place.

“We are aiming to keep Beverley Road open where possible, but Sculcoates Lane will be closed for the duration of the works, so there will be some disruption to traffic.

“We apologise in advance, and ask that motorists are patient whilst we carry out these essential repairs.”

Pedestrians will have access for the duration of the works and the road will reopen to motorists on Monday 14 October.
