5 things to do in Hull this weekend

You are spoiled for comedy in Hull this weekend with a one-man show and a collection of funny folk coming to two venues in the city.

We will also be sipping beer on a brewery tour, seeing a beautiful reimagining of a classic fairy tale and voting in a photography competition.

Here are 5 things to do in Hull this weekend.

1. Rob Beckett
Bonus Arena
Saturday 19 October
£26.90

Dubbed “the mouth of the south”, this British stand-up comedian is a busy man. Perhaps best-known from BBC One’s All Together Now and Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats, he also appears on (deep breath …) BBC One’s Live At The Apollo, Would I Lie To You?, BBC Two’s Mock The Week, ITV’s Play To The Whistle, ITV2’s Celebrity Juice and Sky’s A League of Their Own.

Book tickets for his Hull show here.

2. Atom Brewery Tour
Atom Brewery
Until Saturday 26 Oct
£15

It is the final weeks of the city’s own brewery tour, so hop (sorry) along to this 90-minute excursion, with a beer – or soft drinks for the designated driver – on arrival, followed by a tour of the brewery. Learn about the brewing process, eat malt, sniff hops and try more beer. Book here.

3. LOL Comedy Club
Hull City Hall
Friday 18 October
£16.00

Yet more comedy! See funny men and women off the telly from such shows as BBC2’s Mock The Week, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats and BBC’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow. Starring Tez Ilyas, Stephen Bailey, Freddie Farrell and MC Jed Salisbury, this event will take place in The Mortimer Suite. Book tickets here.

4. Northern Ballet: Cinderella
