Thousands of families supported for food and fuel through Household Support Fund

Residents have until noon on Friday 17 December to apply for the Household Support scheme, which supports low income families with food and fuel costs this winter.

Hull City Council was allocated just over £3million from the Government’s Household Support Fund, to help low income household with essential food and fuel.

Over 21,000 families have been supported to date through the fund. Due to the number of families that have already applied and have been supported through the scheme, the funding will now all be allocated by the end of December.

Households can find out if they are eligible, and can apply here up until noon on 17 December.

As part of the Household Support Fund, a further 12,500 families have benefitted from £15 a week food vouchers over the October half term, and these families will also receive vouchers over the Christmas holidays, February half term and the Easter holidays next year.
