An outdoor opera is heading to Hull Marina this summer

An outdoor and socially distanced opera is taking place at Stage@TheDock on Hull Marina in September.

Hansel and Gretel, from Whistle Stop Opera, will retell the fairy tale of two hungry children, lost in the woods, and a gingerbread cottage that hides a scary secret.

Devised by John Savournin for four singers and accordion, social distancing will be in place for audience members and performers, and a limited number of tickets will be on sale in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines.

The opera will take place at Stage@The Dock on Wednesday 2 September. Ticket details will be announced by Opera North in due course, find out more information here.

Stage @TheDock is a pioneering cultural and community venue situated within Hull’s Fruit Market development. As a former central dry dock, the venue was developed by Wykeland in 2016 to provide a unique 350-seat amphitheatre setting.
