Family fun (and free ice cream) at Pickering Park

A free family fun day will take place at Pickering Park on Saturday 14 September.

It will see a host of free family activities, with children’s rides, face-painting, donkey rides and sporting activities.

A number of the council’s partners will also be there providing information on their services, including Humberside Police, Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Hull City Council’s youth service, Neighbourhood Network Hull, Sportsability, Dove House and the NHS.

Deputy Lord Mayor Councillor Lynn Petrini will officially open the event. She said: “This is the first fun day we have held at Pickering Park and we have ordered some late summer sunshine for the occasion.

“The school holidays might be over, but the park is still very much open for visitors and, at the end of a very expensive few weeks for families, we hope this free event will be welcome news to residents.

“We even have an ice cream van dishing out 99s to anyone who comes along.”

The free event will take place from 11am to 3pm.
