Find out about Hull’s amazing dance scene all in one place

Dance enthusiasts can now find out more about the amazing dance performances, events and opportunities happening across the city in just one place as a new online platform has launched today (Friday 9 December).

Discover Dance is a space created by Hull City Council and Hull Dance that celebrates dance in the city.

It aims to build audiences, create networks, increase opportunities, boost participation, promote awareness and share knowledge about dance in the city through an accessible online space.

Organisations involved include Back to Ours, Freedom Festival, Hull City Hall, Hull New Theatre, Hull Truck, NAPA, The Late Night Circus and The Critical Fish.

Ruth Drake, Arts Development Officer, said: “The purpose of creating Discover Dance is to celebrate and spread the word about dance in Hull.

“Hull has not had this type of resource before and it has been great working with our partners to put this together.

“We hope it will grow and offer a sustainable go-to space for everything dance!”

Councillor Rob Pritchard, Portfolio Holder for Culture, said: “Discover Dance is an excellent resource to the city, linking opportunities with participants, whilst also providing information and knowledge to the dance community about what is available across the city and how they can get involved.”

You can find out more and get involved here, or by finding Hull Dance on social media.
