Hull has been recognised as one of the country’s most attractive and desirable places to host conferences and events.
Conference Hull, part of the council’s Visit Hull team, were awarded the Bronze Award in the Best UK Convention Bureau category at the M&IT Industry Awards.
Conference bureaus from all over the UK were shortlisted, including Liverpool, Glasgow and London.
The winners were voted for by conference organisers from across the country.
Councillor Dave Craker, portfolio holder for culture, tourism and leisure, said: “It’s great to see such fantastic and deserved recognition for the brilliant work that our Visit Hull team do in promoting Hull as a venue for conferences, exhibitions and other business events.
“The city is developing a fantastic reputation for being an attractive place to visit, not just for tourists, but also businesses and events. This has been aided by the significant private and public investment in modern and first-class venues and hotels such as the Bonus Arena and the DoubleTree by Hilton.”

The event, at Battersea Evolution in London, was attended by more than 1,200 industry professionals.

Gold – Glasgow Convention Bureau
Silver – NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau
Bronze – Conference Hull
Bronze – London & Partners
Conference Hull promotes the city as a venue for a range of events and offers free services to event organisers to make it as easy as possible for them to hold an event in Hull.
Conference Hull also works closely with the city’s hotels and venues so that the city can accommodate a wide-range of events and exhibitions.
