Plans for @TheDock tech hub two-building extension approved

Plans for two office buildings at @TheDock digital hub in the Fruit Market in Hull have been approved by Hull City Council’s planning committee.

The extension would allow retail outlets on the ground floor of the new three-storey buildings, plus 48 new ground-floor parking spaces and 42 cycle spaces.

@TheDock is currently made up of 85,000 sq ft of office space for tech firms and global brands including Arco and Saab.

An extension at @TheDock could see retail outlets on the ground floor of the complex.

The site has the striking C4DI building at its heart, comprising about 200 start-up or scale-up tech businesses.

Councillor Daren Hale, deputy leader of Hull City Council, said: “C4DI has been a fantastic development for the city in terms of business start-ups and growth.

“Having a cluster of digital businesses on the same site is great because the companies in there feed off each other, and in many cases are now working together with each other.”

A change-of-use planning application for The Barrow Boys bar in Hull Marina has been approved.
