Huge skills event in Hull to help prospects of thousands young people

A huge interactive skills event will take place at the Bonus Arena in Hull tomorrow and on Wednesday.

Skills Humber, the region’s largest careers and skills event, is designed to allow people aged for 14 to 24 to meet with more than 40 employers, training providers, universities and professional bodies, each offering hands-on activities and industry insight.

It allows potential employers and training providers to recruit a potential future workforce and to promote careers and apprenticeship programmes.

It will be held at the Bonus Arena tomorrow from 5pm to 7pm and on Wednesday 6 March from 9.30am to 3pm.

Councillor Peter Clark, portfolio holder for learning, skills and safeguarding children, said: “It’s great to see such a large-scale careers event coming to Hull and the Humber region. It’s more important than ever that young people receive high quality careers information, advice and guidance which supports the effective transition into the world of work. I look forward to seeing events of this type and scale delivered across Hull and the Humber for many years to come.”

Skills Humber is part of the Skills England series, organised by Prospects Events. Each year, Prospects Events attracts over 68,000 visitors across their 11 UK events. These bring in school and college leavers, teachers and career leaders, as well as parents, carers and families.
