Work starts improve Staveley Road

Work has started to improve Staveley Road.

From Monday 4 January road repairs will be carried in Staveley Road between Marfleet Lane and Hopewell Road.

The work is expected to last a total of six weeks, and will be carried out by Wright Civil Engineering.

The work will be carried out in two phases in order to minimise disruption. Phase one will take place from Monday 4 January to Sunday 24 January, and will include a road closure between Marfleet Lane and Burdale Close. Phase two will take place from Monday 25 January to Sunday 14 February, and will include a road closure from Burdale Road to Hopewell Road.

Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways at Hull City Council, said: “We are carrying out this work in a phased manner in order to minimise disruption to motorists, however this work is necessary, and we apologise for any delays.

“We ask that motorists are patient while we carry out these essential repairs.”

Traffic management will be in place, however vehicle access for residents will be maintained at all times and pedestrian access will remain throughout the duration of the works.

Access for emergency vehicles will also be maintained.
