The final stage of roadworks to Clarence Street will be completed next week.
The road will fully reopen to motorists on Saturday 15 February following the completion of resurfacing works.
Repairs to the carriageway are still ongoing, which means the road will no longer open on Monday 10 February.
Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways at Hull City Council, said: “We apologise for the delay and ask that motorists are patient while we carry out these essential repairs.”
Diversion signs will continue to direct motorists via alternative routes until the work is fully completed.
