Former Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber, Brian Petch, has died at the age of 86.
Brian Petch was a councillor for 24 years, from 1979 until 2003.
He was Lord Mayor of Hull in 1998 and was made an Honorary Alderman in 2003.

He was heavily involved in arts and leisure, serving as Deputy Chairman of Cultural Services.
His late wife, Brenda Petch, also served for many years as a councillor and was Lord Mayor in 2007.
