Anlaby Road roadworks to continue into next phase

Following emergency works to fix a crack in the surface of Anlaby Road inbound, the next phase of improvement works will shortly commence.

From Monday 9 November, and following the reopening of the inbound lane, Anlaby Road outbound from North Road to Trenton Avenue will be closed to traffic.

To avoid traffic funnelling to a single exit point, the side roads contained in this closure will have alternative routes out of the area.

Additionally, from Wednesday 11 November, Anlaby Road outbound from Boothferry roundabout to North Road will be closed. Access to Hamlyn Drive will have to be maintained through the closure.

Councillor Daren Hale, portfolio holder for economic investment and regeneration, said: “We have secured additional £4m funding from the government to undertake repairs to three key routes in the city to deal with concerns raised through the regular condition surveys we undertake.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank motorists for their patience as this work take place.”

Letters will be sent to residents and businesses affected by these closures which are expected to last around four weeks.
