It’s that time of year when gardeners are busy planting for this year’s crop, but did you know there’s a vegetable patch right in the heart of Hull city centre?

Next to the taxi rank outside the Wilson Centre is an urban vegetable patch maintained by a dedicated team of green-fingered volunteers who come together to form Hull Veg City.

All of the garden’s produce is available, for free, to members of the public.

We met with John Pickles, Hull Veg City coordinator, to find out more –
