Hull Comedy Festival returns for its 16th year, Trinity Market’s weekly music night, and a World Cup double header! Here’s our latest selections of what’s on in Hull this November.
Trinity Live
Trinity Market, HU1 2JH, 2 Nov – 22 Dec 2022, 6pm
The weekly music night in Trinity Market takes place on Thursday evenings with live music provided by local up-and-coming acts.
Each week features a free showcase of artists who perform at Humber Street Sesh. Pop along and enjoy the music, food, bars and shopping on offer in the heart of the Old Town!
The event has also been extended until Christmas, so there’s no better time to go down and check it out.
Hull Comedy Festival 2022
Multiple Venues, 2-20 Nov 2022, various times
The annual Hull Comedy Festival returns to Hull this November with a huge line-up of comedy acts from all over the UK.
Taking place since 2007, the festival will take over multiple venues including Hull Truck Theatre, Hull City Hall, Comedy Lounge, Kings and Brain Jar.
Don’t miss comedians such as Brennan Reece, Angelos Epithemiou, Jack Gleadow and the ‘Hullarious’ Free Fringe nights.
Rugby League World Cup Double Header
MKM Stadium, HU3 6HU, 5 Nov 2022, 2:30pm
Following an epic match between New Zealand and Jamaica, the Rugby League World Cup returns to Hull with a blockbuster double bill.
The double header kicks off with Papua New Guinea Women vs. Brazil Women, followed by the Men’s Quarter final.
Hull are also hosting team Fiji during the tournament. You can watch our chat with Fiji captain Kevin Naiqama on our YouTube channel.
Festival of Remembrance
Hull City Hall, HU1 3RQ, 11 Nov 2022, 7;30pm
The Festival of Remembrance returns to Hull for the first time in three years. A musical tribute to our Armed Forces past and present, the event will feature the Humberside Police Band and local musicians from around Hull and the East Riding.
The programme will also include children from Christopher Pickering Primary School and the Hull NHS Choir in what will be a very special concert in support of the Poppy Appeal.
Christmas Lights Switch-On 2022
Queen Victoria Square, HU1 3RA, 17 Nov 2022, 5pm
The annual Christmas lights switch-on in Hull takes place in Queen Victoria Square later this month.
More details will be announced very soon, including special guests, entertainment and food vendors, so watch this space!
Don’t Wait Up
Streetlife Museum, HU1 1PS, 18 Nov 2022, 6:30pm
Part memorial, part celebration, part protest, get involved with the resistance with Don’t Wait Up!
Inspired by the use of carriages, and a nod to the restricted journeys taken by women in days gone by, enjoy an evening of entertainment, reflection and resistance.
Together with women from Hull, Don’t Wait Up will shine a light on the ongoing issue of women’s safety as the night draws in.
Audiences will have the opportunity to have their voices heard, grab a cocktail and maybe some food, dance and express themselves in the wonderful surroundings of Streetlife Museum and Freedom Gardens.
