Road works to start in Holderness Road next week

Essential road works are to get under way in Holderness Road from Monday 5 August.

The repair and resurfacing work will take place between Stanhope Avenue and Summergangs Road westbound.

Works will take place from 7.30am to 10am and are due to be completed by Sunday 18 August.

Councillor Anita Harrison, portfolio holder for highways, said: “These planned works are essential for Holderness Road and will ensure the longevity of the road surface.

“We are carrying out these works during the school summer holidays as traffic tends to be lighter on the roads. We hope this will minimise disruption to motorists and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

For works to take place safely, some traffic management will be in place. Access to Holderness Road will not be available from Southcoates Avenue, Lodge Street, Kelvin Street, Faraday Street and Telford Street, however a diversion route will be in place via Southcoates Lane.

Bus services will also follow this diversion route, however stops within the works area will be suspended for the duration of the works.

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
